0.37-37 kW / 110-480 V / IP20 & IP66
The Invertek Optidrive E3 is a compact, general purpose variable frequency drive for motors from 0.37 to 37 kW. It runs on factory settings straight out of the box, with a 14-parameter basic setup, and comes in IP20 for panel mounting or IP66 for mounting on or beside the machine.
The Optidrive E3 is Invertek’s core general purpose drive range. It covers single and three-phase supplies from 110 V to 480 V:
There are two enclosure types. IP20 drives come in five frame sizes for mounting inside a control panel. IP66 (NEMA 4X) drives come in four frame sizes up to 22 kW, in a dust-tight, outdoor-rated polycarbonate enclosure, with switched versions that add a local speed potentiometer, run/reverse/off switch and lockable mains disconnect.
The E3 uses sensorless vector control for induction motors (IE2 to IE5), permanent magnet, brushless DC, synchronous reluctance and line start PM motors. It is designed for three-phase motors; for PSC or shaded-pole single-phase motors, Invertek makes a separate Optidrive E3 for Single Phase Motors. Where a panel-mounted drive up to 4 kW needs built-in safe torque off or industrial Ethernet, the newer Optidrive E4 sits alongside it. Not the standard E3, which is designed for three-phase motors. For PSC (permanent split capacitor) or shaded-pole single-phase motors, Invertek makes a separate variant, the Optidrive E3 for Single Phase Motors.
Yes. E3 drives with a 230 V single-phase input give a 230 V three-phase output, up to 4 kW. 110 V single-phase models also give a 230 V three-phase output, up to 1.1 kW. The motor must be connected for 230 V three-phase operation.
Three-phase induction motors from IE2 to IE5 efficiency, plus permanent magnet, brushless DC, synchronous reluctance and line start PM motors. The E3 uses sensorless vector control for all of them.
IP20 drives are for mounting inside a control panel and cover the full 0.37–37 kW range. IP66 (NEMA 4X) drives are dust-tight and washdown-capable, for mounting on or beside the machine indoors or outdoors, up to 22 kW. Switched IP66 models add local controls and a lockable mains disconnect, which suits single machines such as conveyors.
The Optidrive E4 keeps the E3’s simple setup and adds built-in SIL 3 safe torque off, USB-C and Bluetooth commissioning, BACnet on board and optional industrial Ethernet. It is IP20 only and currently covers 0.37–4 kW. The E3 remains in full production and is the choice for IP66 enclosures and ratings up to 37 kW.
