The Invertek Optidrive E4 keeps the simple setup of the Optidrive E3 and adds built-in SIL 3 safe torque off, USB-C and Bluetooth commissioning, BACnet on board and optional industrial Ethernet. It is available in IP20 frame sizes 1 and 2, from 0.37 to 4 kW, with larger frame sizes to follow.
The Optidrive E4 is Invertek’s newest general purpose drive, launched in November 2025. It does not replace the Optidrive E3, which stays in full production. Instead it adds features many machine applications now need: certified safe torque off, more communication options and a faster processor for high-efficiency motors.
The first two IP20 frame sizes cover:
Setup stays the same as the E3: 14 basic parameters, keypad control and contactor-style wiring. For IP66 enclosures or ratings above 4 kW, the E3 covers up to 37 kW. For hoists, closed-loop control or ratings to 250 kW, see the Optidrive P2.

The E4 adds built-in SIL 3 safe torque off, USB-C and Bluetooth commissioning, BACnet on board, optional industrial Ethernet, more flexible I/O and advanced brake control with torque proving. The Optidrive E3 covers more ratings (up to 37 kW) and is available in IP66.
No. Invertek says the E3 remains in full production as its core general purpose range. The E4 sits alongside it for applications that need safe torque off or more connectivity.
The E4 is available now in IP20 frame sizes 1 and 2, from 0.37 to 4 kW (2.2 kW on a 230 V supply). Invertek has said larger frame sizes will follow.
Not at present. The E4 is IP20 for panel mounting, with a NEMA 1 kit available. For an IP66 drive that mounts on or beside the machine, the Optidrive E3 is available in IP66 up to 22 kW.
Dual-channel safe torque off (STO) is built in, certified to SIL 3 and PL e / Category 3. STO removes torque from the motor without switching off the drive’s supply, so it can form part of a machine safety circuit.
