We supply TECO’s low voltage range: aluminium and cast iron IEC frame motors up to 90kW, and four variable speed drive ranges covering 0.2kW to 355kW. Aluminium frames for general purpose duty, cast iron where the environment is more severe, and drives from a compact 2.2kW general purpose unit up to 355kW of heavy duty vector control.

If your nameplate says Westinghouse, it is still a TECO motor. TECO formed a joint venture with Westinghouse Electric in 1988 and bought out Westinghouse’s share in 1995, after which the business traded as TECO-Westinghouse. Motors and drives supplied into the UK have carried the TECO name, the Westinghouse name, or both. They are the same product line.

When choosing an IEC motor, power, speed and efficiency are important—but so is the motor’s construction. Both aluminium and cast iron motors use standard IEC metric mountings, so the choice largely comes down to the demands of the application.
Aluminium: lightweight and versatile
Aluminium-frame motors are lighter, easier to handle and generally more economical, making them a practical choice for most general-purpose applications such as fans, pumps, conveyors, compressors and machinery.
Our aluminium range features IP56 protection and multi-mounting, covering applications up to IEC 200 frame and 37kW.
Cast iron: robust and heavy-duty
Cast iron motors provide a heavier, more rigid construction, making them well suited to applications where vibration, impact or demanding operating conditions are a consideration.
Our AEEVYY TECO cast iron range extends to IEC 280 frame and 90kW, but we can source larger frames and powers too.
Which should you choose?
As a general guide, choose aluminium for lightweight, general-purpose applications, and consider cast iron where greater mechanical robustness or higher power ratings are required.
The final choice should also take account of the duty, environment, IP rating, efficiency, speed, mounting and bearing arrangement.

Four ranges cover 0.2kW to 355kW, and the right one is usually decided by the panel and the duty rather than the power alone.
L510S is the general purpose choice for small drives up to 2.2kW where cost and simplicity matter. S510 does the same job in a bookcase format that saves panel width and adds Safe Torque Off and network communications – the usual pick for OEM panel builds. E510S and E710 add sensorless vector control, built-in PID and PLC functionality up to 18.5kW, with the E710 available fully enclosed to IP66 for mounting outside a panel. A510S is the heavy duty range, up to 355kW, with the full set of advanced motor control modes.

Frequently asked questions
Two IEC frame ranges. Aluminium frame motors run to IEC 200 frame and 37kW, in 2, 4 and 6 pole, with IP56 protection and a multi-mount design. Cast iron frame motors run to IEC 280 frame and 90kW, with a top mounted terminal box, FAG bearings and IP55 protection. Both are low voltage and both take standard IEC metric mountings.
Aluminium for general purpose duty up to 37kW: lighter, cheaper, easier to handle, and right for most fan, pump and conveyor applications. TECO motors are industrial electric motors made by TECO Electric & Machinery, founded in Taiwan in 1956 and now operating in 45 countries. The low voltage range sold in Europe covers aluminium and cast iron IEC frame motors to 90kW, alongside the L510S, S510, E510S, E710 and A510S variable speed drive ranges.
TECO manufactures in Taiwan and across its international operations. Low voltage motors sold into Europe are built to European standards – IEC frame sizes, metric mountings, kW ratings and IE efficiency classes – so they fit and replace European machinery directly.

Not for low voltage. TECO’s European organisation handles medium and high voltage machines, from 90kW and 2.3kV upwards. Low voltage motors and variable speed drives are distributed through Motovario, and we supply them through that channel.
