The FR-D700 series is being discontinued. Mitsubishi Electric announced end of life in January 2026 and named the FR-D800 established as its next-generation replacement. Mitsubishi Electric’s current lifecycle information gives 31 December 2026 as the last-time-buy date and 31 January 2034 as the end of service support.
If you have FR-D700 drives already installed, there is no need to replace them simply because the series has been discontinued. However, if you need a replacement or want to hold spares for an existing installation, it makes sense to identify the equivalent FR-D800 model now.

Mitsubishi Electric has several inverter ranges, so choosing the right one isn’t always simply a matter of matching the motor’s kW rating. The application, type of load, control requirements and available space in the panel can all make a difference.
FR-D800 is a compact, general-purpose range covering smaller applications up to 15kW. It’s a good fit for things such as conveyors, small fans and general machinery where straightforward speed control is all that’s required.
FR-E800 covers applications up to 22kW and offers additional control, energy-saving and diagnostic functions. It can be particularly useful where you need more information from the drive or where access to the equipment for routine checks is difficult.
FR-F800 is designed specifically for fan and pump applications, with ratings up to 630kW. It’s commonly used for HVAC, ventilation, water and other variable-torque applications where controlling the motor to match the load can help reduce energy consumption.
