Motovario logo

The HA Series is the die-cast aluminium version of Motovario’s inline helical range: lightweight, compact and cost-effective for lower power applications. Two and three-stage units run from 100Nm to 500Nm, with single-stage units for low ratios. For higher torque, the cast iron H/HR Series runs to 8,000Nm.

HA Series overview

The two and three-stage HA Series comes in four sizes, HA32/33, HA42/43, HA52/53 and HA62/63, with nominal output torque from 100Nm to 500Nm and solid output shafts from 20mm to 40mm. Single-stage units, HA31, HA41, HA51 and HA61, cover ratios from 1.33:1, and the full range reaches 353.98:1. Across all sizes, solid output shafts run from 11mm to 40mm.

Casings are die-cast aluminium alloy, shot-peened, washed and passivated, then finished in blue RAL 5010 epoxy-polyester powder. Motovario quotes an average efficiency of 0.97 for one stage, 0.96 for two and 0.94 for three.

Units are available as compact geared motors (CHA), which keep the overall length down, with an IEC motor adaptor in B5 or B14 for motors from IEC 63 to 112 (HA), or with a solid input shaft (IHA). Casings are available with feet, with a flange (F) or as a universal (U) version, and ATEX versions are available.

Features and benefits

  • Die-cast aluminium casing – lightweight and cost-effective for lower power applications.
  • 100Nm to 500Nm – four two and three-stage sizes, HA32/33 to HA62/63.
  • Single-stage units – HA31 to HA61 for low ratios and higher output speeds.
  • Ratios from 1.33:1 to 353.98:1 – one, two or three reduction stages.
  • High efficiency – average 0.97 for one stage, 0.96 for two and 0.94 for three.
  • Compact motor option – the CHA geared motor shortens the overall footprint.
  • IEC 63 to 112 motor adaptors – B5 and B14 flanges, or a solid input shaft.
  • Foot, flange or universal mounting – F and U versions alongside the foot mounted casing.
  • Lubricated for life – every HA unit is supplied filled, with no oil plugs.

HA Series FAQs

For lower power drives up to 500Nm, where a lighter, lower cost aluminium unit is enough. For higher torque or heavier duty, the cast iron H/HR Series runs from 55Nm to 8,000Nm.

The first digit after HA is the casing size and the second the number of stages. An HA52 is a size 5 unit with two stages; an HA53 has three; an HA51 is single-stage.

The CHA version mounts the motor directly to the gearbox without a separate IEC adaptor, which shortens the overall length of the geared motor.

IEC motors from frame 63 to frame 112 with B5 or B14 adaptors. Motovario three phase motors and brake motors cover this frame range.
