The M Series is Motovario’s range of totally enclosed, fan cooled three phase motors. Single-speed motors come in standard (TS), high (TH) and premium (TP) efficiency versions, with two-speed D series motors too. All are designed to IEC 60034, inverter suitable and available in foot, B5 flange or B14 face mounting.
M Series motors cover IEC frame sizes 56 to 132, from 0.09kW to 7.5kW in 2 and 4 pole and up to 5.5kW in 6 pole. Efficiency follows EU Regulation 2019/1781 and IEC 60034-30-1: TS motors are IE1 below 0.12kW, TH motors are IE2 from 0.12kW to below 0.75kW, and TP motors are IE3 premium efficiency, including 4 pole ratings from 0.12kW. The D series adds two-speed, double polarity motors in 2/4 and 4/8 pole.
Casings are die-cast aluminium alloy, chosen for strength and corrosion resistance, finned for cooling and supplied unpainted as standard, with painting as an option. Insulation is Class F (Class H optional) and the standard protection rating is IP55, with IP56, IP65 and IP66 versions available. Feet can be fitted in three positions from frame 71, and lifting rings are fitted from frame 100.
All three phase motors are equipped with phase separators for inverter duty compatibility, so they can run on a variable speed drive. Standard windings are bi-frequency, 230/400V 50Hz and 265/460V 60Hz, with other voltages available. Options include PTC thermistors or bimetal thermal cutouts, forced ventilation, a rain cover, a backstop device and an incremental encoder.

Efficiency class. TS motors are IE1 standard efficiency (below 0.12kW), TH motors are IE2 high efficiency (0.12kW to below 0.75kW) and TP motors are IE3 premium efficiency, in line with EU Regulation 2019/1781.
Yes. All M Series three phase motors have phase separators in the windings to withstand inverter voltage peaks. For long periods at very low or very high speeds, a forced ventilation kit keeps the motor cool.
IP55 as standard, with IP56, IP65 and IP66 versions available for wetter or dustier environments.
Yes. Standard M Series motors carry both the CE and UKCA marks.
Yes. B5 and B14 flange motors fit the IEC motor adaptors on Motovario worm, inline helical, bevel helical and shaft mounted gearboxes to make a complete geared motor.
Yes. Every single and two-speed M Series motor from frame 63 can be built as a brake motor, with a DC or AC electromagnetic brake.
