The VFI Series is the Clean-Geartech stainless steel gearbox in the traditional square worm format. The housing is AISI 304 stainless steel with smooth surfaces and no grooves to collect dirt, the hollow output shaft is 316L, and the range runs to a 110mm centre distance and 651Nm.
The VFI is a fully stainless steel worm gearbox for applications where hygiene is the first priority. Its strong square housing is AISI 304 stainless steel, entirely smooth so a wash-down removes contamination rather than pushing it into crevices. The hollow output shaft, protection cap, feet, screws and reaction arms are all AISI 316L.
Six sizes from I30 to I11 cover 21Nm to 651Nm, with ratios from 5:1 to 102:1 and standard hollow bores from ø14mm to ø42mm. The I11, with a 110mm centre distance, is the largest worm gearbox in the Clean-Geartech range. A modular base lets the same gearbox be set up with feet, an output flange or a reaction arm.
Viton seals are standard, and the twin Viton option with a 316L shield gives IP69K protection for high-pressure hot washdown. For a fully stainless steel worm geared motor, fit an SPM Series motor. Where the line uses the most aggressive chlorinated or salt-laden cleaning, the round VFN Series offers the same worm drive in AISI 316L.

The housing is AISI 304 stainless steel. The hollow output shaft and the hardware (protection cap, feet, screws and reaction arms) are AISI 316L.
The VFI has a square, modular AISI 304 housing and runs up to 651Nm with a ø42mm bore. The VFN has a round, polished AISI 316L housing and runs up to 347Nm. 316L contains molybdenum, which gives it better resistance to chlorides, salt and aggressive cleaning chemicals, so the VFN suits the harshest clean-downs.
The I11, with a 110mm centre distance, a ø42mm standard hollow bore and a rated output torque of 651Nm, for input powers from 1.1kW to 4.0kW.
It is IP66 as standard. Specify twin Viton seals with the 316L stainless steel shield for IP69K, which covers close-range high-pressure (100 bar), high-temperature (80°C) washdown.
Yes. Fit an SPM Series stainless steel motor to make a fully stainless worm geared motor. For a higher-efficiency right-angle drive, look at the BVN Series bevel helical gearbox.
Yes. VFI gearboxes are filled with long-life synthetic oil as standard, and food grade oil is available on request.
