Betech has been a long-standing Motovario partner and factory-certified Assembly Centre for more than a decade. We hold substantial stock of Motovario components, allowing us to assemble thousands of possible configurations of inline helical, bevel helical and shaft-mounted gearboxes, alongside comprehensive stock of worm gearboxes, mechanical variators, motors and other Motovario products.

As a factory-certified Motovario Assembly Centre, Betech holds a substantial range of Motovario components in stock, allowing us to assemble gearboxes and geared motors in a wide variety of configurations. Rather than relying solely on a fixed stock of finished units, components such as gearbox housings, gear sets, output shafts, input adaptors and motor flanges can be combined to meet specific ratio, bore, mounting and motor requirements.
This means we can supply many Motovario gearbox configurations without requiring every possible combination to be held as a separate finished stock item. For example, a requirement for a specific gear ratio, hollow bore and motor size can often be configured, assembled and tested by Betech to meet the customer’s requirements.
Our assembly capability is particularly valuable for replacement Motovario gearboxes and urgent breakdown requirements, where finding the correct configuration quickly can help reduce machinery downtime. Our technical team can help identify the required specification and advise on the most appropriate Motovario gearbox or geared motor for the application.
Selecting the right Motovario gearbox or geared motor depends on the requirements of the application. Key factors include the required output speed, reduction ratio, torque, motor power and mounting arrangement, together with the type of load, operating conditions and duty cycle. Depending on the application, factors such as radial or axial loads, thermal capacity and the available space may also need to be considered.
Motovario offers several gearbox technologies, each suited to different requirements. Worm gearboxes, including the NMRV and NMRV POWER ranges, provide a compact and versatile solution for many industrial applications. Inline helical gearboxes are suited to applications requiring efficient power transmission, while bevel helical gearboxes provide efficient right-angle transmission. Shaft-mounted gearboxes offer a compact solution where the gearbox can be mounted directly onto the driven shaft, while planetary gearboxes are designed for applications requiring high torque and power density.

Assembled to order
We hold the range in component form, which means ratios, bore sizes and mounting arrangements outside a normal stock list can usually be built and despatched rather than ordered from the factory.

Replacing an existing unit

An Assembly Centre is certified by Motovario to hold the range as components and build finished gearboxes and geared motors on site. Instead of a fixed list of stock units, the combinations of ratio, bore size, mounting and motor are assembled to order. It shortens lead times on anything that isn’t a standard catalogue item.
From Betech, direct. We hold worm gearboxes, variators and motors in finished stock at Heckmondwike, and hold the helical, bevel helical and shaft mounted ranges as components for assembly to order.
Yes. Because we assemble from components, we hold the parts as well as the finished units – gear sets, output shafts, input adaptors, seals, torque arms and mounting hardware. Send the gearbox model and serial number, or a photograph of the nameplate.
NMRV is Motovario’s worm gearbox designation. The number that follows is the centre distance in millimetres – an NMRV050 has a 50mm centre distance. NMRV-P is the version with a reinforced housing and larger output bearings, used at the larger sizes and where radial loads are higher.
Single stage worm units run from around 5:1 to 100:1. Adding a helical or worm pre-stage takes that considerably higher, into the hundreds. Helical and bevel helical units cover the lower ratios and higher torques. If you know the input speed and the output speed you need, we will work out the combination.
Usually, yes. Several Motovario ranges are built to standard mounting dimensions, so a like-for-like fit is often possible without modifying the baseplate. Send the nameplate or a photograph of the unit you are replacing and we will identify the equivalent, confirm the mounting and flag any differences before you order.
TECO acquired Motovario in 2015. Motovario remains the gearbox and IEC motor brand; TECO covers a wider motor and drive range. Both are supplied through the same channel and Betech stocks both – see our TECO range.
No. Motovario Ltd is Motovario’s own UK subsidiary. Betech 100pt Ltd is an independent distributor and certified Assembly Centre based in West Yorkshire, holding UK stock and building units to order.
Worm gearboxes are supplied filled with synthetic lubricant and are sealed for life in most sizes. Larger units and some mounting positions require a fill and level check on installation. Oil type and quantity vary by size and mounting position, so check the manual for the specific unit – or call us with the model number.

Yes – three phase, brake, SELF Power synchronous and Drivon integrated inverter motors, up to IEC 132 frame. They can be supplied on their own or fitted to a gear unit as a complete geared motor.
